Tamron 28-300 AF Aspherical LD (IF) 1:3.5-6-3 Macro CANON MOUNT

Tamron 28-300 AF Aspherical LD (IF) 1:3.5-6.3 Macro CANON MOUNT

This all in one zoom lens with macro capability is a remnant of the SLR era. It is designed for full frame cameras, and therefore on DSLRs with cropped sensor the zoom range becomes a truely awesome 45-480 mm.

This is the non VR (Vibration Reduction) model, and so practical usage of the outermost reaches of it's massive zoom range is somewhat restricted.

Minimum focus distance is about 1 mt

It is somewhat heavy at 600gms, which is to be expected from a lens of this range and age. Unlike most present all plastic lenses, this one has a metal mount, and probably metal internals as well which account for the weight.

Fully withdrawn, it is about 7 cms long and at full zoom it becomes twice that.

IF usually refers to Internal Focussing. But, in this case the focus ring moves when focussing.

This is a used item

Present Condition Optics:
It has a fair bit of fungus.
The special coating on the front element has been damaged.

Present condition Cosmetic:
It is in mint condition. The silver body does lend it an "L"ness (as in L series lenses from Canon which have white areas, are expensive and quite sharp).

Present Condition Functional:
100%. Focus (AF and MF ) and zoom movement is accurate and smooth.

Results :
The defects not withstanding the lens produces impressive results. The quality of the optics shines through in the images. Sharpness is quite good, and will only improve if the lens is cleaned - but it is better left as is.

Bundle
Bundle includes the lens and both caps.

Price : Rs. 11000.

Shipping : Item is in Calicut, Kerala and can be shipped all over India at extra cost. Shipping will be by DTDC Plus or similar better quality service.

Payment terms and condition : 100% payment upfront.

My name is Lavanya Sethi I had sent a courier through the DTDC Courier which contains my some important documents, which has still not been received at the desired destination. However the online DTDC tracking site shows in transit.
When I contacted DTDC they informed me as follows "we regret to inform your goodself that despite of best of our concerned offices efforts, we were unsuccessful in tracing out your consignment and stands misplaced in transit/mention place, as confirmed from our Cochin Branch.
I filed the complaint on Consumer Court site also but still not got any response.
